Description	:	Funeral services for August F. Barfknecht, 70, were held here at 10 o'clock Monday morning in the Klawitter chapel. He was found dead in his room at Casper, Wyo., having passed away sometime after Aug. 3. The Rev. Mr. S. Haferman of Salem Lutheran Church officiated at the Monday services. Burial was made in the Nelson cemetery (sic). Mr. Barfknecht was born Nov. 21, 1889, and passed away at the age of 70 years and 9 months. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Barfknecht. August is the first to be taken of the family of eight children. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. He made his home with his sister Mary for a number of years. He later spent about two years in Deshler taking care of his failing father, which he did with much patience. After the death of his father, he went west, spending his later years in Colorado and Wyoming. He leaves to mourn his death three brothers and four sisters, William of Superior, Fred of Denver and Charles of Akron, Colo., Mary and Mathilda of Nelson, Lena of Lawrence, and Anna of Yuma, Colo.
