Schulte, son of Henry and Wilhelmina (nee Hempeler) Schulte, was born March 1, 1880 at Garnavillo, Iowa. He was baptized April 1, 1880 by Pastor Fruchtenicht. In 1887 he came to Nebraska with his parents and lived on a farm near Cook. He was confirmed April 1, 1895 by Pastor G. Bergatraesser. He received his education in a rural school near Cook. He engaged in farming several years; spent a few years in Wyoming, and in 1929 came to Sterling, making his home with his sister. Mrs. Amanda Wiebke, where he lived until his death. He suffered from arthritis and the first of May, 1958 he fell and broke his hip. Since then he had been confined to his bed most of the time. Complications set in and he died early Monday morning, Nov. 17, 1958. His age was 78 years, 8 months and 16 days. Surviving him are two brothers and two sisters: W. C. Schulte of Sterling, Emil Schulte of Cook, Mrs. Amanda Wiebke of Sterling and Mrs. Otto Beckmann of Burr; also one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and other relatives. Sympathy is extended to them. His parents and two brothers, George and Herman, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, in the Zink Funeral Home, with the Rev. A. G. Langholz officiating. burial will be in the Sterling cemetery.
