Dethmann, 76, of 226 1/2 Main Ave., who died Saturday morning, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Shadduck funeral home. Rev. Paul H. Burgdorf, St. John's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery. August Dethmann was born Feb. 17, 1881, in Goose Lake, the son of the late Thomas and Margaret Lampe Dethmann. He farmed for many years in the Goose Lake area and moved to Clinton in 1925. He was then employed as a painter. He was a member of St. John's church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Arvilla) Albaugh, Clinton; one brother, Alfred Dethmann, Clinton; one sister, Mrs. William Schepler, Sac City, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. Edward Hayes Jr., was the vocalist, and Mrs. P. H. Burgdorf, the organist. Burial was in the Oakland cemetery. Pallbearers were Broker Heel, Alver Lundquist, Arthur Dethmann, Del Thomsen and Arnold Dethmann.
