August Henry Lutz was born March 23, 1901 to Carl and Marie Lutz in Odebolt, Iowa. When he was young he and his family moved to Schaller, Iowa. When he was 5, they moved to Storm Lake. In 1916 he moved to a farm south of Webster where he lived with is aunt and uncle. He worked as a farm hand. In 1918 he began farming the Lutz family farm. He married Frances Kuecker on Sept 24, 1925. They lived on the family farm. She died in March 1962. He married Emma Petrausch Prieb on July 16, 1963. He farmed until his retirement in 1981. He entered the Bethesda Home in Nov 1991. She died in January 1995. Survivors include two stepsons: Wesley Prieb of Chelan, WA and Gordon Prieb of Wichita, Kansas; one step daughter, Joyce Proctor of Webster; 5 grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Casket bearers will be Loren Lutz, Lynn Lutz, Monty Bloom, Mary Bloom, Dan Gisselbeck, Marcia Gisselbeck, Marion Lutz and Ed Lutz. Organist will be LaVon Prieb and soloist will be Pastor Lynn Lutz.
