Read More	OBIT: Harlan Tribune - December 12, 1934 August Henry Rehder Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Immanuel Lutheran church for August Henry Rehder 73, whose death occurred Monday afternoon at 5:00 o'clock at the Harlan Hospital. Rev. Laurits Pedersen officiated. Interment was in the Harlan cemetery. Mr. Rehder has been in failing health for the past six weeks but his sudden passing was a shock to his family and friends. He became ill while attending a sale conducted by his son Elmer Rehder on the farm place in Lincoln township, Monday. August Henry Rehder was born in Holstein Germany, October 20, 1861. he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church in his native land. Mr. Rehder came to the United States with his mother, his brother and sisters in 1880. They came to Durant, Iowa where Mr. Rehder lived for some years after which he moved to Avoca, Iowa. There he remained until about the year 1894 when he came to Lincoln township. There Mr. Rehder purchased a farm and made his home since. He was united in marriage to Anna Hilbert in 1899. To this union three daughters were born. Mrs. Rehder died in May, 1904. In September 1905 he was united in marriage to Anna Poschwatter. To this union, two children were born, Mrs. Rehder's death occurred June, 1916. He leaves to mourn his departure five children, namely, Mrs. Elmer Way, of Milford, Ia., Mrs. Wendell Jacobs of Portsmouth, Mrs. Clifford Lawrence of Cedar Rapids, Ia., Mrs. William Jensen of Harlan and Mrs. Elmer Rehder of Harlan; also three step children. He leaves eleven grandchildren. Also, one brother and two sisters, Mr. Henry Rehder of Carnation, Wash., Mrs. Peter Klint, Durant It., and Mrs. Lena Lund, Cohagen, Mont. Mr. Rehder was a successful farmer and a highly respected citizen.
