They married about 1879 in Germany. While living in Germany they had the following children, Franz "Frank" Blank, August Blank, Jr, Carl F. Blank, Bertha Blank Schwede, and Otto Julius Herman Blank. They mirgrated to Nebraska and lived in the northeast part of Norfolk, near Pierce, NE. After arriving in Norfolk, August and Augusta had two more children, Herman Gottlieb Friederich Blank and Lena Frieda Blank Gruchow. Pierce County Call, Thursday, April 16, 1931 Death of August Blank August Blank, who is well known by many old settlers in these parts, died last Thursday afternoon at three o'clock at the home of his son, Herman, at Norfolk. It is said that death was caused by a ruptured appendix. Mr. Blank was born in Germany and to young manhood there. He came to the United States when forty years of age. He lived in Pierce County for a number of years. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Gus Schwede and Mrs. Paul Gruchow of Norfolk, Frank of Pierce, and Otto of Foster; one sister, Mrs. Bertha Spieker, living in Germany and two brothers, Gotlieb, of Norfolk, and Frank living in Germany. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Herman Blank home in Norfolk, at two o'clock and at 2:30 o'clock at the Christ Lutheran Chuch Conducted by Rev. M. E. Mayer. Interment took place in the Lutheran Cemetery. At the time of death Mr. Blank was 79 years of age.
