Those who survive him are, eight children: Mrs. Salma Seiler, Marshall, Minn.; H.F. Weidauer, Marshall, Minn.; Mrs. Augusta Kammerer, LeMars; P.E. Weidauer, Freeburg, Ill.; Mrs. Rosy Penning, Elgin, N.D.; R.A. Weidauer, Pomeroy, Ia.; O.W. Weidauer, Merrill; R.L. Weidauer, LeMars. There are 56 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. Two brothers are still living in Germany. The deceased was preceded in death by his wife eight years ago. Two children died in infancy and two eight years ago. Mr. Weidauer was born October 31, 1843 at Koenisreich, Saxony, Germany. He attended the schools of his native country and grew to young manhood, when he was married to Thekla Drexel, at the age of 25. Eight children were born in Germany, six of whom survived and emigrated with the family to the United States. First they settled in Champaign county, Illinois. Thirty-six years ago they moved to Calhoun County, Iowa, going through the experience of an old-fashioned cyclone. In 1901, the family moved to Plymouth county, and Mr. Weidauer lived in this county ever since, except when he visited in Germany on three different occasions. The deceased has been in failing health for about two years. His condition became serious about six weeks ago. He was a member of the Lutheran church. He was a good father, a good citizen and a member of the community who won the respect and admiration of everyone with whom he came in contact.
