Description	:	SOURCE: 27 October 1965 - The Lowden News August Keitel, 74 a retired farmer who had farmed in the Lowden-Clarence area, died early Sunday in the DeWitt community hospital where he had been a patient since July 31. In 1953 he went to make his home with his son Henry and family near DeWitt. Last rites were held Tuesday in St. John's United Church of Christ in Clarence at 10:00 a.m. The Dr C. W. Pallbearers were Wm Von Muenster, Robert Von Muenster, Leo Von Muenster, Elmer Geadelmann, Wilbert Wiebke and Elmer Krueger. Mrs Wm Von Muenster and Mrs Wiebke were in charge of the floral tributes. Interment was made in St. John's cemetery. Mr Keitel was born Jan. 7, 1891 in Germany to Wilhelm and Minnie Gehrke Keitel. He married Louise Brunscheen Nov. 22, 1918 in Leese, Germany. He was a member of the United Church of Christ. Survivors are a son, Fred of Jefferson City, Mo. and 14 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and his son, Henry.
