Description	:	Son of Katherine and Philip Meyer. The Wentzville Union Newspaper - March 23, 1916 Carl August Meyer C. August Meyer was born in Hanover, Germany, April 19, 1841 and died in St. Charles March 15, 1916. He married Miss Caroling Massmann in 1775 and came to this country in 1882. August Meyer was born in Hanover, Germany, April 19, 1841 and died in St. Charles March 15, 1916. He married Miss Caroling Massmann in 1775 and came to this country in 1882. To this union seven children were born, six of whom survive, as follows; Henry A. Meyer, Wentzville; Mrs. Louisa McKenna, St. Louis; Mrs. Lena Blanken, St. Charles; Mrs. Kate Schnoor, St. Charles; Mrs. Anna Griewe, St. Charles, and August W. Meyer, St. Charles. His wife also survives. Until six years ago, Mr. Meyer lived on a farm north of town. From that time until last October he lived in the property now occupied by Mrs. Baumhoff in Wentzville. Since October he has been living in St. Charles. His death was caused by bronchitis, from which he had been a sufferer. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church at this place of which deceased was a member, on Friday. Services were conducted in German by Rev. Julius Friedrichs of St. Charles and in English by Rev. Mensing. Interment was in the Wentzville Cemetery. All of the children and twelve grandchildren were present at the funeral. H. H. Bruns, Henry Buenger and Miss Hilda Griewe, all of St. Charles also attended.
