Mr. Stichweh was a citizen of our community since 1883. He was born on Sept 11, 1953 (sic) in Hanover, Germany. He with his parents, in his 14th year, came to America settling near Chicago, Ills. There he followed his trade, being an expert butcher. He was married to Wilhelmina nee Berndt, in June, 1883, but after 10 years she died leaving him with three children. After four years he was married again to Mrs. Carolina Hogens nee Koch, from Minden. This union was blessed with three children. After a lingering illness he passed away last week, Thursday. The funeral took place this week, Monday the 26 of July at Zion Lutheran church (sic), Wanda Township, Adams county (sic). Rev A. W. Wilk officiating. His remains were laid to rest in Zion cemetery (sic). He leaves to mourn his widow, Mrs. C. Stichweh, Carl Stichweh and family of Chicago; Fred Stichweh and family, of near Heartwell; Mrs. J. Finnigsmeier, of near Kenesaw; Prof. H. Stichweh and family, Belleville, Ill. Mrs. Arthur Lange, Seibert, Colo.; Mrs. E Einspahr, Flagler, Colo., and Paul Stichweh at home.
