August was the youngest son of John Joseph and Christine A (Ficken) Pils, natives of Prussia. Then as the family became accustomed to the new country they moved again, this time near the Village of Weston, Yates Twp, McLean Co, Illinois (1910 Census). This is where the family remained. Then during the 1920s August William Frederick Pils, along with 2 of his brothers, Peter John, and Henry John Pils, moved to Ohio. August moved to Wood Co, while Peter and Henry moved near McComb in Pleasant Twp, Hancock Co. On the 31st of January 1924, August Pils was married to Helen Bostelman. The 1930 Census says they made their home near Pemberville, in Freedom Twp, Wood Co, Ohio. Where August was a farmer. Only 8 years later, August died October 24 1938, in Pleasant Twp, near McComb, Hancock Co, Ohio, leaving a young wife and baby girl, Pauline Dora Pils. -- At that time August's brothers: Peter John Pils and Henry John Pils were also nearby farmers in Pleasant Twp, Hancock Co, Ohio.
