Gillham, at the age of 81 years and 11 months. Funeral services were held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at St. Luke's M.E. church conducted by the pastor, Rev. R.A. Richmond. A quartet, Mrs. L.C. Harris, Mrs. G.H. Penrod, James Lawson, and H.C. Andrews, sang two hymns, "Going Down the Valley" and "Does Jesus Care?" and Mrs. Penrod sang a solo, "Going Home". Mrs. Frank Maule was organist. The pallbearers, grandsons of Mrs. Kilzer, were Harold Gillham, Will Husemoller, Leo and Leonard Imig and Edgar and Thomas Kilzer. Burial was in the David City cemetery. Those in attendance at the funeral from elsewhere were Mr. and Mrs. L.F. Bahr from Kearney, Mr. and Mrs. G.H. Gillham from Grand Island, W.C. Husemoller and family from Hastings, Dr. and Mrs. L.R. Kilzer from Laramie, Wyo., Mrs. Earl Baldwin from Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. George Wickstrom, Mrs. Emily Hans and Mr. and Mrs. John P. Kilzer and son from Ramond, Arthur Shock and family from Columbus, the Henry Kilzer, Otto Img and John Keller families and Mrs. Lem Russnagle from Garland and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Kilzer, Mrs. Ed Imig, John Kilzer and family and H.W. Bluhm and family from Seward. Augusta Schultz was Mrs. Kilzer's maiden name. She was born in Stame, Germany, in 1854, and came to America at the age of 14 years. She was united in marriage to Julius Bahr at Boston, Mass., March 10, 1870. They moved from Boston to Minier, Ill., where they lived for 12 years, then coming to David City, where they resided until the death of Mr. Bahr in 1891. To them were born nine children, of whom four survive, namely Mrs. E.E. Gillham and W.J. Bahr of David City, A.E. Bahr of Colorado, and L.F. Bahr of Kearney. On May 6, 1894, Mrs. Bahr was married to Peter Kilzer, of Garland. One son, L.R. Kilzer, now of Laramie, Wyo., was born to them. Mr. Kilzer passed away November 8, 1915. After his death Mrs. Kilzer lived in Garland for 13 years, then moved to Kearney to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Gillham, they moving to David City three years ago. Besides her five children, Mrs. Kilzer leaves nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and five stepchildren, Henry Kilzer of Garland, John Kilzer of Seward, Fred Kilzer of Memphis, Idaho, Jacob Kilzer of Oaks, N. Dak., and Mrs. Otto Imig of Garland. Mrs. Kilzer was a lifelong member of the German Evangelical church and was also a member of the Degree of Honor lodge. She was a devoted wife and mother, as considerate of the comfort of her stepchildren as of her own. She was a goodhearted, congenial and kind, and greatly enjoyed having her friends in her home, and performed many acts of helpfulness during her lifetime. Our sincere appreciation is extended to neighbors and friends for kindness and sympathy shown and for floral offerings of remembrance in our bereavement, the minister for his words of comfort, the singers and organist for the music, and all others who in any way helped us at this time.
