Read More	NORFOLK GOLD STAR MOTHER IS FOUND DEAD Mrs. Augusta Woock, 81, Dies in Home, Was Alone Mrs. Augusta Wook, 81, Gold Star mother, who resided alone on a farm south of Norfolk, was found dead by neighbors on a couch at her home where she had passed away then or twelve hours before a heart attack. Mrs. Woock was seen Monday evening doing chores about the house as usual. Late Tuesday morning, Roy Timperley, a neighbor, stopped at the place and knocked at the door. When he received no response, he went to the barn and noticed livestock had not been fed. Timperley then went to the F. D. Heath home nearby and told Mrs. Heath he believed "something was wrong" at Mrs. Woock's home. The two then went to the place and there found Mrs. Woock dead. Dr. C. J. Verges was called, and he pronounced death due to a heart attack and said Mrs. Woock had been dead ten to twelve hours when her body was found. Lived Alone 7 Years For the past seven years, since the death of her son, August, Mrs. Woock operated alone the farm, four and one-half miles south of here on the South First street road, and only recently sold at Norfolk some cattle she had been feeding. She had lived in that community about twenty-five years. She is survived by three sons, Emil Woock, Norfolk, Herman Woock, Durland, Mich., and Ferdinand Ranniger, Ojal, Calif., a son by her first marriage, three sisters, Mrs. Henry Blohm, Davenport, Ia., who arrived in Norfolk Wednesday, Mrs. Emma Walrod, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Rose Blank, Grandmound, Ia. The son, Herman, was expected to arrive here Thursday, and following his arrival funeral arrangements will be completed. Mrs. Woock became a Gold Star Mother when her son, Frank Woock, died of influenza while serving in the American army in France. A daughter, Mrs. Anna Rule, Council Bluffs, also preceded her in death. Was 81 Last May 21 Mrs. Woock, who was 81 years old last May 21, was a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars auxiliaries and the First Congregational church. She regularly attended parties given in honor of Norfolk's Gold Star Mothers. (notes) Spouse: Frederick Heinrich Ranniger (1854, m 1877) Children: Herman (1888), Emil (1891), Frank (1894)
