Description	:	Mrs. Augusta Simon, 75, a resident of the Anita community since 1883 and Anita for the past twenty-eight years, died Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Barnholdt, southeast of Anita. Mrs. Simon had gone to the home of her daughter on Tuesday of last week where she was going to spend a few days and was stricken the next day with paralysis. Read More	Mrs. Augusta Simon, 75, a resident of the Anita community since 1883 and Anita for the past twenty-eight years, died Sunday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Arthur Barnholdt, southeast of Anita. Mrs. Simon had gone to the home of her daughter on Tuesday of last week where she was going to spend a few days and was stricken the next day with paralysis. The stroke was very severe leaving her in a very serious condition from which she never regained full consciousness. Augusta Marie Tismer, daughter of the late Frederick and Marie Tismer, was born in Glozow, Germany, on Dec 23, 1864. With her brother, the late Fred Tismer, she came to the United States in May 1883, locating near Anita where she remainder the rest of the life. On Nov 18, 1884, she was united in marriage to David Simon, and to this union eleven children were born. She made her home on a farm near Anita until twenty-eight years ago, when she purchased property here and moved her family to town. Her husband was killed by lightning in August 1902 and a son, August, preceded his mother in death in December 1908. For more than a half century, Mrs. Simon was a well respected resident of the Anita community. The death of her husband when the children were so small, left her a task that she fulfilled with great credit to herself and family. She always took a great delight in her home, and it was a pleasure to her to care for the children and grandchildren. She was a good wife, mother, and neighbor and her passing will be mourned by a large circle of friends and acquaintances. She is survived by three sons and seven daughters. They are Henry, Fred, and William of Anita; Mrs. Tena Kohl of Fontanelle; Mrs. Kate Wheatley, Mrs. Mary Smith, and Mrs. Matilda Barnholdt of Anita; Mrs. Bertha Kohl of Meadow Grove, NE; Mrs. Freda Wheatley of Menlo; and Mrs. Minnie Ernst of Adair. Other survivors are thirty-seven grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and three sisters, the latter living in Germany. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Anita Methodist Church with Rev. Arthur V. Long officiating. Interment will take place in Evergreen Cemetery.
