Augusta May Rahrden married to W. L. Graves at Fondulac, Wis., May 23, 1869, moved to Iowa in July of the same year and settled on a farm near Cambridge. Eight children were born to this union; Augusta, Willie, Willis, Tilden and Grace are deceased. Fred and Clarence only survive the former living in Omaha and the latter on the coast. Mr. Graves departed this life March 27, 1894. Mrs. Graves was stricken with paralysis some two years ago and has been in a helpless condition since. She was a woman of very eccentric habits and lived much to herself, shunning the companionship of all. She passed away at her home in this city April 3rd aged seventy-one years. A short funeral service was conducted at Cooper’s undertaking parlor Tuesday afternoon by W. Edward Purdy, pastor of the Church of Christ. A duet was rendered by Mrs. Geo. Boitnott and Mrs. Ned Pearson. Interment was at Center Grove cemetery west of town.
