AUGUSTA BELL TAKEN BY ILLNESS - Native Of Hardin County Is Buried After Funeral Services Here Wednesday - Final and fitting rites for Mrs. Augusta Bell were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Postle Funeral Home here with the Rev. W. S. Dilbert in charge. Internment was made in the Fairview Cemetery (Belle Center, Logan Co., Ohio). Mrs. Bell died Monday afternoon in the McKitrick Hospital, at Kenton, after an illness of five years. However, her condition had been considered serious only the past few weeks. Despite this failing health, she maintained a keen interest in all affairs to the very last and received many friends who called at her home. The deceased was born Augusta Hites in Hardin County July 7, 1857, being past eighty three years at the time of her demise. She was the daughter of Jonathan and Catherine Hites. At the age of nine, she moved with her family to Allison, Iowa, where she resided until 1875. In that year she was united in marriage with Isaac Bell, and since has been one of Hardin County's most highly esteemed residents. Mrs. Bell was a member of the Belle Center Methodist Church and as long as her health permitted took an active part in the affairs of the church, as well as those of her community. Throughout her life, she had maintained a countless number of friends, all of whom will greatly mourn her passing. Children surviving the loss of their dearly beloved mother are three sons, Richard, Marion, and Robert, all of Hardin County; six daughters, Mrs. Willis Anstine, of near Roundhead; Mrs. H. A. Roby, Leesburg; Mrs. Elizabeth Carr, Delaware; Mrs. J. P. Cullison, Columbus; Mrs. Jason Canfield, Cleveland; and Miss Ada Bell, of Akron. The husband and three children, Vesta, Howard, and LeRoy preceded Mrs. Bell in death.
