Funeral services of Mrs Augusta Frank, who died on December 24 at her home south of Ulmer, were held at the house at 12 o'clock, the Rev. Edw. L Wittkopp, her minister, officiating. Interment was made in the Luckow cemetery with a sermon given both in German and English. Augusta Wilhelmina Christena Frank, nee Toepper, was born on January 9, 1845 on the Island of Ruegen on the northern shore of Germany. In that same month she was baptised in the name of the triune God. In the fall of 1867 she was united in marriage with Carl Frederick John Frank and to this union were born three sons and two daughters, namely: Charles, Dorothy, John, Bertha and William. The family came to America and settled at Coal Valley, IL in 1871 moving to Iowa in 1877 and settling in Viola township, Sac county, until 1903 when they moved to Carnarvon. They remained on this farm until the death of Mr. Frank, nineteen years later, in December 1922. After that time Mrs Frank resided in Carnarvon about a year and then made her home with her daughter, Mrs Dora Buse, just south of Ulmer where she died. Relatives besides the immediate family who survive are CC Frank, Mrs Dora Buse, John Frank, William Frank, Clause Peters, thirty grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
