August was youngest of 14 children, hence 3 children apparently died before becoming adults. Data apparently furnished by Minnie Koester (sic!), according to a letter. According to A. E. Koster (#11) there were 14 children in all, of he was the last. Apparently 3 died before they became adults and were probably of little moment. A. E. Koster said that 2 went to China as missionaries. I do not know the names of these 2 sons. The majority of the family were highly religious. Two or three were not particularly of religious bent." All the above remarks and genealogy by Hollis Koster. Note: my research indicates that only one brother, Heinrick (#4), went to China as a missionary. Description of bearer: Age – 15 years size – 5 foot – 5 inches - , Stature – slender, hair – blond, forehead – free, Eyebrows – blond, Eyes – greenish – blue, nose and mouth – usual, teeth – sound, chin – round, beard – absent, face oval, color of face – healthy.
