Description	:	Son of Augustus and Lillian (Kimball) Brown. Augustus was the youngest of seven children. He moved with his family to McCool Junction in 1919 and graduated from McCool Junction High School in 1931. He later served in the Conservation Corps for two years and worked in an orchard in Idaho with his brother Ted for two years before moving to California where he worked for Lockheed Aircraft Corp. Augustus married Rose Wurst on July 5, 1941, in Los Angeles, Calif. To this marriage three sons were born. The family moved back to York in 1946 where he farmed until retiring.... He was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Augustus Melvin Brown is survived by his wife Rose of York; three sons, Augustus M. (Colene) Brown Jr. of York, Carl H. (Marie) Brown of Polk and William R. Brown of York; five grandchildren, Carlene (Todd) Van Housen of Polk, Sarah (Terry) Carlstrom of Polk, Troy (Julie) Brown of Hastings, Travis Brown of Polk and Tricia (Jason) Regier of Lincoln; five great-grandchildren, Kaylee VanHousen, Riley Carlstrom, Dustin Matlock, Chandler Brown and Hayden Regier. He is also survived by brother and sisters-in-law, Ruby Sheldon of Sargent, Richard and Dian Wurst of Stromsburg, Lois Nicholson of Lincoln, Marie Carlson of Polk, and Gordon and Lillian Wurst of York; many nieces and nephews.
