Description	:	Aura Lucile (Shoesmith) Wall was born on September 29, 1921 to Mary Emiline (Marean) and Roy King Shoesmith in Bear Grove Township in Guthrie County, lowa. Aura shared a happy childhood with her six siblings living in and attending school in the North Branch community. Read More	Aura Lucile (Shoesmith) Wall was born on September 29, 1921 to Mary Emiline (Marean) and Roy King Shoesmith in Bear Grove Township in Guthrie County, lowa. Aura shared a happy childhood with her six siblings living in and attending school in the North Branch community. The family eventually moved to Guthrie Center where Aura graduated from high school in 1940. ln high school Aura was in vocal music and girls basketball. After high school Aura lived in California with her sister and worked in a restaurant in their neighborhood. She returned to Guthrie Center and then married Ted Wall on August 2, 1942 at Rockport, Missouri. Aura & Ted had four children and they raised their family on their acreage on the west edge of Guthrie Center. Aura and Ted always raised huge gardens and Aura did a lot of canning. She loved to cook and was well known for her homemade candies. During World War ll Aura lived with her parents in Des Moines and she and her dad worked at Solar Aircraft factory. Aura worked at the ASCS office for a time, several restaurants in Guthrie Center, including the Daree Den and the Midway Cafe and sorted corn for Garst & Thomas in Coon Rapids. Aura went to work at Guthrie County Hospital as a nurse's aide and was a wonderful caregiver. She particularly loved working in OB., caring for the babies and new mothers. Aura retired from the hospital in 1994 and honored for 20 years of service. Aura loved music and sports of any kind. Her greatest joys in life were family gatherings and going to her grandchildren's school activities. She enjoyed reading, flower gardening, doing the word jumble in the newspaper, playing cards and doing jigsaw puzzles. Aura was a devoted and faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Guthrie Center. Aura passed away peacefully in the company of her beloved family on October 13,2017 at The New Homestead in Guthrie Center. She was preceded in death by her husband Ted, grandson Jimmy, her parents, her brother Max and sisters Marjorie, Marian, Wilma and Martha. Aura is survived by one sister Jean (Boyd) Sparks of Montezuma, Iowa and her children Carolyn (Jim) Griffith of Guthrie Center, Tom(Lynette) Wall of Davenport, Marijean Coffman of Panora, Pamela (Doug) Grow of Rippey, grandchildren Amy (Charles) Cleveland of Guthrie Center, Emily (Ben) Schrank of Davenport, Jeremiah Wall (Adrienne) of Fort Collins, Colorado, Bryan (Tammi) Grow of Maryville, Missouri, Jason (Lindsay) Grow of Bondurant, Iowa, Kelly (Ryan) Napoli of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, great grandchildren Erica and Grant Cleveland, Bryna and Kora Grow and Jaxson, Kamsyn and Quinton Grow and a host of nieces and nephews.
