Maguire Date: September 7, 1928 ~ March 23, 2009 Obituary: Austin E. Maguire, age 80 years, of Wymore died Monday morning, March 23, 2009 at the Wymore Good Samaritan Center. He was born Sept. 7, 1928 on a farm west of Liberty where he spent his childhood and was a 1946 graduate of Liberty High School. Austin married Tylene Pearl Powell on Sept. 7, 1948 at Fairbury. They owned and operated a donut shop in Wymore before moving to Wheatland, Wyoming where they also operated and operated a donut shop, and he was a serviceman for American Propane. After eleven years, they moved to Boulder, Montana where they managed a resort and mines for five years. They moved to Liberty in 1992 and to Wymore in May 2004. Austin was a member of the Liberty Christian Church and was a former member of the Blue River Riders Saddle Club. He also broke and trained horses. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, camping, and woodworking. Austin is survived by three sons, Daniel Maguire and his wife Vicki of Pierz, MN; Michael Maguire and his special friend Cindy Dorn of Plymouth; and Keith Maguire and his wife Karen of Wymore; by an adopted in-law, Lori Austin of Lincoln; by 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, one step grandchild, and 2 step great grandchildren; by a brother and a sister, Kenneth Maguire and Ruth Johnson, both of Beatrice; by four sisters-in-law, Betty Maguire of Marysville, KS; Elsie Sejkora and her husband Roger, and Judy Powell and her husband Cory, all of Liberty; Joni Powell of Douglas, WY; by a brother-in-law, Verne Powell and his wife Sue of Kingman, Arizona; and by nieces and nephews. Austin was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Charles and Gladys (Showen) Maguire; by his wife, Tylene, on Jan. 25, 2007; by a son, Fred LeRoy "Lee" Maguire on Oct. 9, 2006; by a sister, Marjorie Coffey; by three brothers, Paul, Ross, and Keith Maguire; by a sister-in-law, Louise Maguire; and by four brothers-in-law, Don, Ron and Darald Powell; and Jerry Johnson. Memorial: Memorial to the Liberty Christian Church with Diane Larsen in charge. Cemetery: Burial will be at the Liberty Cemetery. Visitations: There will be no viewing but a register book will be available for signatures at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home, 505 North Ninth Street, Wymore, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday with his family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.; and at the church one hour preceding the service. Services: Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Liberty Christian Church, James Hackel officiating.
