| Description | : | Avis was baptized in Pine Creek as a member of Cuba Baptist Church. She graduated from Rock County High School in 1943. She taught school four years and then married on 22 June 1947 to Ira Junior Moore. After marriage Avis joined the United Methodist Church at Long Pine where she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School and helped with the United Methodist Women's Society. She was the mother of Sherry, Kathy, Steve and three daughters that died in infancy Jean, Joyce and Joan. Siblings: Raymond Sawyer, Lester Sawyer, Herbert Sawyer and Nellie Sawyer Schlink. |
