He worked in this area for a wage of $20.00 a month and sometimes less until he became of age. He filed a claim for Hosmer township. His brother Joseph filed on the SW of the same section. Baldaser was married in 1891 to Theresia Heier. He and his wife had twelve children; six boys and six girls. One son died in 1932.
