He is one year old living in Woodville, Morrow County, Ohio. The 1880 Census dated June 6, shows Banner age 21, living in Wright Township, Hillsdale County, Michigan with his parents, wife, Eva age 19 and their first child Verna age one. He is listed as a farmer. In the Kansas State Census dated March 1, 1885 he is living in Larned, Pawnee County, Kansas. He next appears in the 1900 Census dated June 12, living in Martinsville, Clark County, Illinois. He is 41, she 39 and their son Bertie S. age ten. They have been married for twenty two years. The census listed Eva as the mother of four children with only two living. Banner and Eva appear again in the 1910 Census dated April 15 in Parker Township, Clark County, Illinois. According to the 1920 Federal Census dated January 8th he and Eva are living in Hudson, Black Hawk County, Iowa. Their daughter Verna Hendry, a widow and all her children, are living with them also. Banner and Eva appear also in the 1930 Census in Grant Township, Grundy County, Iowa dated April 22. They appear to be visiting their Granddaughter Merle Campbell. At the time of this last Census Banner is 70 and Eva is 69 years old. When his brother, Perry, died Banner appeared in his obituary on August 8, 1936 as living in Missouri which might be doughful. On the 1940 Federal Census dated April 22nd he is living with his daughter in Hudson, Black Hawk County, Iowa. He is 81 years old. This person is my great granduncle. Robert P. HUDSON, IOWA—Banner L. Cook, 84, resident of Hudson since 1915, died Friday night after a month's illness of complications. His death occurred at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Owen Campbell, where Mr. and Mrs. Cook had lived for many years, and where Mrs. Cook died May 6, 1938. Banner Leroy Cook was born Sept. 24, 1858, in Ohio, and married Miss Eva Sandoe in 1878, at Martinsville, Illinois. The couple came to Hudson in 1915. Mr. Cook was a member of the Church of God at Martinsville, and attended the Federated church in Hudson. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. C. E. Hayes, Waterloo; a son, Bert Cook, Martinsville, Illinois; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2:30 p. m. Sunday at the Federated hurch, Rev. Harvey Moon, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev. Harry Buss, pastor of the United Brethren Church. Casketbearers will be A. E. Hollis, B. M. Sweitzer, Paul Anderson, F. M. Bowen, Herman Gutknecht and Henry Reimers. Burial will be in Hudson cemetery.
