Excerpt -- The funeral services for Mrs. Walker, wife of the late Samuel Walker, were held at the home of her son, Mr. Sam Walker, at McCool, Md., on Saturday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. John F. Dayton, of Twenty-First Bridge, Md. Mrs. Walker was a good woman and formerly resided at Twenty-First Street Bridge, but for the past months made her home with her son, where she died after a long illness. The funeral was largely attended by sorrowing relatives and friends, after which the body was laid to rest in the Dayton graveyard near her home. Note: Obit error, Samuel Walker would have been grandson, son of Susan V Dawson. Walker 19 Lorenzo Walker 9m Barbara should be age 36 Note: Barbara had not other children (that have been found) with Samuel Walker until Lorenzo Walker is born in 1880. Next: 1900 Twenty years later Barbara once again is the wrong age and should be at least 56. Samuel aged from 32 to 40 to 65. His death record says he was 70 when he died in 1903. 1900 Census: New Creek, Mineral County, WV Samuel S Walker 65 Barba A Walker 45 3 children and one Living. Two children would be Susan W. Dawson, Sarah C. Dawson, Lorenzo Walker was the son of Sarah C. Dawson. All were still living in 1900 so what children is Barbara referring to on this record. Conclusion: Barbara was born about 1840 1841 and was young age of 14 to 16 when daughter Susan was born. Barbara may have been older and just giving incorrect ages to census takers. Parents unknown of Barbara Custer Dawson Walker. My cousins and I have many DNA matches to Adam Custer 1806-1860 and wife Sarah Bowman. Adam son of Emanuel Custer Jr..and Anna Ringer Also to his brother David Custer and to his Aunt Mary Custer Cummings Susan Virginia Dawson Lipscomb's death record says her parents were John O. Dawson and Barbara Custer. John O. Dawson is most likely have been the son of Henry O. Dawson and thus his name was John Odell Dawson. John Dawson is with father in 1850 but gone by 1860 and may have died and left Barbara a widow. Note: Susan Virginia Dawson had four children with her step father Samuel Walker and sister Sarah C Dawson had two......Note: 2018..
