Barb was born on Jan. 19, 1954, in Dubuque, daughter of Arthur and Mildred (Theisen) Heinricy. She married Paul E. Ludwig on Dec. 1, 1973, at Holy Rosary Church, La Motte. Together they operated Ludwig Electric and Pump Co., in La Motte. He preceded her in death on Dec. 24, 2009. She was a member of Holy Rosary Parish and later St. Joseph's in Bellevue, and also was a member of the La Motte Fire and Rescue. Barb loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Surviving are her three children, Steve (Terri) Ludwig, of Elizabeth, Ill., Chris (Lourdes) Ludwig, of Jupiter, Fla., and Nick (Laura) Ludwig, of La Motte; five grandchildren, Kyle, Megand, Logan, Autumn and Matthew; a brother, Gary (Ann) Heinricy, of La Motte; and nieces and nephews. She also was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Donna Donovan; a brother-in-law, Dorrance Donovan; and a nephew, Dale Donovan.
