She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she very active in Sunday School, on several committees, and in the community. Barbara was survived by her daughter, Meredith Lynn Gragg and husband, Matthew of Virginia Beach; her son Richard E. Read More	Barbara was born in Durham, NC and raised in Petersburg, VA. She was a Newport News resident for over 50 years. She retired from Copeland Toyota Volvo as a payroll administrator. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she very active in Sunday School, on several committees, and in the community. Barbara was survived by her daughter, Meredith Lynn Gragg and husband, Matthew of Virginia Beach; her son Richard E. Bowman, Jr. and wife, Stacy of providence Forge; her mother, Annie Gill of Richmond; three brothers, Claude Inge and wife, Linda, of Richmond; George Inge and wife, Joan of Marrero, LA; and Gary Inge and wife, Debbie of Hardyville; two grandchildren, Zachary Bowman and and Cameron Gragg; and her very dear friend, Larry McKinney, along with her church family and many lifelong friends. The family expressed their gratitude to the ICU nursing staff and physicians at Mary Immaculate Hospital for their care and support during her illness. The family received friends 4-6 pm on Sun, Dec 7 at peninsula Funeral Home. The funeral service was held at 11:30 am on Mon, Dec 8 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, followed by burial at Peninsula Memorial Park. Contributions were suggested to Tabernacle Baptist Church, the American Heart Association, or the American Cancer Society.
