She received her education in Shelby and graduated from Shelby High in 1955. She married Jerome Reisdorff on December 30, 1957 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shelby. They lived in Norfolk before returning to Shelby. Along with raising her family, Barb drove a school bus for several years for Shelby Public Schools.
