Mrs. Ridenour is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Henry Fletcher and a son, Charles of Keswick and two other sons, Luther and Wesley of Montana. Her husband preceded her in death several years. Mrs. Ridenour had been a member of the Methodist church several years. Deep River, March 6, 1925 After being a cripple for a period of forty years, many of which were passed in pain that would try the patience of a saint, the last seven of which she had been in a more or less helpless condition, Mrs. Barbara Eleanor, wife of the late Emanuel Ridenour, passed from suffering to rest, Feb. 25, 1925, aged 84 years, one month and three days. Death took place at the home of Mrs. C. M. Shaffer where deceased had made her home for the past six years. While a great sufferer, she was really a patient person and took her affliction in a philosophical manner, making as little trouble as possible for those who attended her. During her active years, she was a capable wife and mother and gave the best that was in her to the care and welfare of her family. She was charitable and neighborly and enjoyed the confidence and respect of a large circle of friends, among whom her passing is mourned. Barbara Eleanor Ocheltree was born in Green county, Ohio, Jan. 22, 1841. When two years of age she came to Iowa with her parents, who settled in Cedar county, near Tipton. She was united in marriage to Emanuel Ridenour, Jan. 2, 1868, and three years later they moved to a farm in Iowa county, 6 1/2 miles southeast of Deep River, where they lived until 1905 when they moved to Deep River. To this union five children were born, Howard, died when 2 years of age, Luther, who lives in Plentywood, Montana, Wesley, of McCook, Nebraska, Charles, of Thornburg, and Mrs. Hattie Fletcher, of Jacksonville, Missouri. She united with the Methodist Protestant Church, east of Deep River, about thirty years ago and in 1915 she transferred her membership to the Methodist church of Deep River. Besides her children, she is survived by 13 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, two sisters, Mrs. Nancy Eicher, of Coon Rapids, Iowa, and Mrs. Anna McClune of Tipton, Iowa, one brother, Thomas Ocheltree, Mitchell, South Dakota, and other relatives. The funeral services were at the Methodist church, in charge of the pastor, Rev. Hehner, Friday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. Her remains were laid to rest beside those of her husband in Golden Rod cemetery.
