Description	:	Barbara Esther Thieben, 52, of Grand Island died Sunday, December 4, 2005 at home from an illness. Funeral services will at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005 at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor William Voelker officiating. Burial will be in the Edison City Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Thursday. She was baptized Dec. 20, 1953 in Mt. Olive Lutheran Church at Norfolk by Rev. B. Meschke. Barbara was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Pierce, NE on April 7th, 1968 by Rev. Jordon Arft. She graduated from Pierce High School in 1972 and from Norfolk Junior College in 1973. She did office work and bookkeeping in Norfolk and was a controller for Satters in Denver, CO. She moved back to Pierce in 2000. Barbara married Richard D. Thieben at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Pierce on May 24th 2002 and they moved to Grand Island in 2005. Barbara is survived by her husband Richard of Grand Island, three stepchildren: Jamie Thieben of McCook, and Johnathan and Cassidy of Doniphan, her parents, LaVerle and Florence Kesting of Pierce, two brothers: Larry & wife Peg Kesting of Pierce, and Loren Kesting of Portugal, and former sister-in-law Darla Kesting of OFallon, IL. Barbara was preceded in death by her little sister, Janet, her paternal grandparents, Gus and Esther Kesting, and maternal grandparents, Charles and Garcia Wessel.
