She lived at Tuolumne General Medical Facility's long-term care for eight years before moving to Avalon in November. Mrs. Campbell was born in Warren County, Ohio, to Michael and Bertha Vargo. She left home at the age of 18 and moved to Oakland, where she met and married Arthur Campbell. They had eight children who, along with their families, remained close to her. She and her husband moved to Arnold in 1974 where she lived until 1999 when she moved to Columbia. A faithful Catholic with a large family, she had little time for a social life, her family said. Her life revolved around her husband, children and grandchildren. Her hobbies included baking, gardening and reading. Her family said she was well known for her cooking and baking skills. Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Campbell, in 1988. Burial will be private at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Murphys with a private memorial in Columbia after the service. In lieu of flowers or gifts, donations can be made to Satellite Dialysis, 136 Columbia Way, Sonora, CA 95370. Terzich and Wilson Funeral Home handled arrangements.
