Description	:	Barbara Jean Ades, 84, of Eldon, died at 7:40 a.m. February 12, 2019 at Good Samaritan Society-Ottumwa. She was born February 24, 1934 in Ottumwa to John and Blanche Fulcher Randall. Barbara was a 1953 graduate of Ottumwa High School and played the violin in the high school orchestra. She married Delton R. She was born February 24, 1934 in Ottumwa to John and Blanche Fulcher Randall. Barbara was a 1953 graduate of Ottumwa High School and played the violin in the high school orchestra. She married Delton R. "Dick" Ades on December 19, 1954 and he preceded her in death on August 2, 1991. Barbara was an Air Force wife for 20 years stationed in England and Turkey. She achieved her LPN license in Chicago, IL. Barbara filled the role of wife, mother, homemaker, caregiver and her most prized achievement, grandmother. Barbara volunteered at many things including Boy and Girl Scouts leader, 4-H leader and babysitter for numerous grandchildren. Barbara had a love of all animals, had two beloved parrots, many stray dogs and cats throughout the years. Barbara had the sweetest smile and laughter, she never knew a stranger. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Ottumwa. Surviving are her six children, Mike (Jane) Ades of Batavia, Edward Ades of Ottumwa and Donald Ades of Eldon, Linda (Albert) Myers of Aurora, CO, Kathy (Dan) Allman and Kim (Tom) Nichols both of Eldon; 16 grandchildren 9 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Johnnie Randall and Chuck (Verna) Randall both of Marion, Ronald (Susan) Randall of Ottumwa; as well as many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, Pamela, a sister, Patty Anderson and grandson, Charlie Denham. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Paris and Pastor Timothy Curtiss officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday.
