Description	:	Barbara "June" Fielden left us on March 23, 2007, to reunite with her beloved husband Lee. June was born on July 23, 1926, to George and Clara Quigley in Shively, CA. June was raised in Humboldt County and graduated from Fortuna High School. She married Lee Fielden and they settled in Hydesville. June and Lee owned the Whites Grocery Store in Fortuna in the early years, and later in the 70’s they owned the Sears Catalog Store in Fortuna and Rio Dell. Read More	Barbara "June" Fielden left us on March 23, 2007, to reunite with her beloved husband Lee. June was born on July 23, 1926, to George and Clara Quigley in Shively, CA. June was raised in Humboldt County and graduated from Fortuna High School. She married Lee Fielden and they settled in Hydesville. June and Lee owned the Whites Grocery Store in Fortuna in the early years, and later in the 70’s they owned the Sears Catalog Store in Fortuna and Rio Dell. They also had the Fielden Stream Trailer Park in Hydesville. June and Lee worked side by side in all their endeavors. June loved animals. They were never just her pets to her. They were more than that. They were all her babies. Lee and June raised Draft horses, mules, and donkeys. June’s pride was overcoming the fear she had of the large draft horses, as they were so much bigger than her. Her favorite had to be “Chainsaw”, the mule that Darrel White rode for them at the Bishop Mule Show. June loved to dance. She and Lee went to many dance clubs around the country from Bridgeville to Holmes. June’s talents were unbelievable. She mastered every task she took on. She painted many beautiful pictures of the local countryside. She produced beautiful stained glass and metal art. She also enjoyed fly tying and gardening. She loved antiques and especially her Victorian home. June also had her pilot’s license that allowed her and Lee to take several trips where by she would fly them to their destination. Grant and Neta McKenzie and their boys were very special to June and Lee. They would spend a lot of their free time together. June shared many stories about the good times they had had together. Emma Toler was also a special friend to June. Every year they would take each other out to a lobster dinner at the Sea Grill in Eureka. June loved adventure. All you had to do was call and ask if she would like to go somewhere, and the answer would be “I’m ready.” June made friends everywhere she went. Her quick wit and humor was enjoyed by all. She would have people tell her what a sweet little lady she was, she would get a twinkle in her eye and reply "You don’t know me to good do you," and then have a good chuckle. June is survived by her special friends, Frank and Linda Hizer of Fortuna, Kathy and Neil Wildgrube of Rio Dell, Beverly and Steve Bishop of Hydesville, and Dede and Shannon McWhorter of Fortuna. Private graveside service will be held at the Hydesville Cemetery under the direction of Goble’s Mortuary. A celebration of June’s life will be held Saturday March 31st at 11:00 a.m. at the Fortuna Fire Hall. Published in Eureka Times-Standard on Mar. 28, 2007
