Description	:	Barbara Kirby (Anderson) Hauser died December 2, 2018 of pneumonia and was "Promoted to Glory". She had a strong, enthusastic love for and faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Twins Barb and Bev Kirby Anderson were 1946 graduates of De Pere High School, De Pere, Wisconsin, where they were cheerleaders, starred in the school play, and worked on the school newspaper together. Read More	Barbara Kirby (Anderson) Hauser died December 2, 2018 of pneumonia and was "Promoted to Glory". She had a strong, enthusastic love for and faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Twins Barb and Bev Kirby Anderson were 1946 graduates of De Pere High School, De Pere, Wisconsin, where they were cheerleaders, starred in the school play, and worked on the school newspaper together. Barb showed me the cutest photo of them together at the age when I met them after Bev's daughter, Terry Anne Meeuwsen, had been crowned Miss America for 1973. They were both wearing knee-high white boots and had on matching yellow outfits, and they looked identical by then. Barb was married to Laurence "Larry" B. Hauser, who predeceased her. Barb's two children, Rex Lloyd Hauser, and Laurie Hauser (Allen) Sitta, survive her. Memorial #175718365 has a helpful bio for Barb's stepsister (whose mother, Bertha Elizabeth Olson Anderson #84574743, died in 1934 before Barb's adoption on May 7, 1934), Jeanette Rood, from her adoptive stepfather, Melvin "Mel" Anderson #84574756 (Barbara, Beverly & Dorothy Kirby were all adopted by Mel Anderson on May 7, 1934, Milwaukee, WI)-- along with Jean's twin brother, Jim, and younger brother, Robert, are Barb's older step-siblings after her biological parents were divorced before the 1930 Census (and The Great Depression), when she and Bev were 3 and their sister, Dorothy, was 4, and their widowed maternal grandmother was living with them, while their mother was a hairdresser in a hairdressing salon to support them all, even though she entered on the census that she had received no schooling (but she could read and write). Barb's daughter, Laurie, wrote: "My Mom was my mother and my friend. She was the most caring and giving person I have ever known. My sons and I have wonderful memories of her and to this day, we laugh at shared memories of moments with Mom. We truly 'lost' her years before she passed. Dementia, of any type, is not very kind to the patient or the family. I don't believe I am capable of writing a bio on Mom. There is no way I could do her justice without writing a book the length of War and Peace. She made us laugh, she defended us and when necessary, berated us if we were wrong. I was very blessed to be her daughter." When Barb passed, absolutely nobody she knew had stayed in touch with her due to her dementia. The only visits she had were from her son and daughter and their kids. Cousin Terry did stop by when she was in town, but as she said, 'you could see Aunt Barb had no idea who I was, but she was unfailingly polite and thanked me for stopping by.' The dementia had changed her so much, it was truly heart-breaking. After her passing, her daughter and son decided that the only people who would be attending would be their friends locally, as it was winter and nobody wanted to travel. Barb's two sisters, Bev and Dorothy, were both in nursing homes and absolutely could not travel, so they opted to not do a wake, obituary or funeral service. Barb & Larry were both cremated, as they requested, and their ashes are buried beside each other in the Hauser Family Cemetery.
