Mass of Christian burial will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 409 Third Ave. S.E., Aberdeen, with Father Jonathan Venner as Celebrant. Geffre was born on March 25, 1920, to John and Catherine (Reinbold) Geffre in McPherson County. She attended grade school in McPherson County and graduated from Leola High School in Leola. Barbara was united in marriage to Milton Haberman on Oct. 14, 1939. The couple farmed in the Forbes, N.D., and Leola areas. In addition to helping her husband farm, Barbara also worked at Thorpe Sales Barn in Ellendale, N.D., and the Leola Sales Barn as an office clerk and bookkeeper. In 1965, the family moved to Missoula, Mont., where Barbara worked at St. Patrick's Hospital until 1967, when they moved to Aberdeen. While in Aberdeen, Barbara worked as a credit manager for Pred's Inc. for 23 years and also worked part time at the R & A Bar. She and Milton shared over 25 years of marriage and raised five children before he passed away on May 3, 1975. Barbara retired in 1993, but remained active for many years volunteering at St. Luke's Hospital, the Aberdeen Visitors Bureau and the Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Luke's Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and the Midland Regional Health Center Auxiliary. Barbara enjoyed baking and tending to her flower and vegetable gardens. Blessed to have shared Barbara's life are her children: Jerry, Kathy and Jeanne; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, six brothers, Adrian, Gordon, Norbert, Lawrence, Herbert and Raymond; two sisters, Mary Ann and Helen; and many nieces and nephews.
