Description	:	Barbara Lyon, 97, of Alden, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls. Barbara Wright Lyon was born February 12, 1918 in Tuscumbia, Missouri. She attended Park College in Missouri and became a teacher. She taught 7th and 8th grades for four years. In May of 1941 she was united in marriage to Cecil Lyon. They had three sons, James, Jerry and Joe. With three boys Barbara stayed active in 4-H. She was a member of the Jolly Neighbors from Lee Center. Read More	Barbara Lyon, 97, of Alden, passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at Scenic Manor in Iowa Falls. Barbara Wright Lyon was born February 12, 1918 in Tuscumbia, Missouri. She attended Park College in Missouri and became a teacher. She taught 7th and 8th grades for four years. In May of 1941 she was united in marriage to Cecil Lyon. They had three sons, James, Jerry and Joe. With three boys Barbara stayed active in 4-H. She was a member of the Jolly Neighbors from Lee Center. She had worked for General Publishing and Binding making cookbooks for ten years. Barbara and Cecil spent many winters in Mission, Texas from 1975 to 1985 enjoying the warmer weather. Barbara was proud of the fact that she planted every flower and hosta on the farm all by herself. She had 100 varieties of lilies and 150 varieties of hostas. She became a national flower show judge. She judged at many fairs and also at a flower show in Mexico. She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, James Bamber, a brother, Bamber Wright and her parents, Homer and Elizabeth Wright.
