Description	:	BARBORA KRESAK Barbora, daughter of Joseph and Josephine Podlesak- Kapacka was born on December 4, 1877 in Czechoslovakia. She died on September 18, 1951 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kovanda, a son-in-law and daughter. She was married in October 1895 to Albert Kresak Six daughters and three sons were born of this marriage union. One daughter died in infancy and two others, Carrie and Antonia, later in life. Read More	BARBORA KRESAK Barbora, daughter of Joseph and Josephine Podlesak- Kapacka was born on December 4, 1877 in Czechoslovakia. She died on September 18, 1951 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Anton Kovanda, a son-in-law and daughter. She was married in October 1895 to Albert Kresak Six daughters and three sons were born of this marriage union. One daughter died in infancy and two others, Carrie and Antonia, later in life. Mr. and Mrs. Kresak came to the United States of America in 1900. Their first home was in Plattsmouth, Nebraska where he worked in the railroad shops for three years. Then they moved to Fillmore county where they farmed for four years. At this time they purchased their own farm southeast of Friend and this remained their home until his death on August 2, 1935. In 1938 she came to Friend to make her home with her daughter, Helen and husband. This was her home until her death. Mrs. Kresak was a woman who had few interests outside of her home. Her realm was her home, her crown, motherhood, and the jewels of her crown were her children. In later years her grand children became her great delight. The Z. C. B. J. lodge, a Western Bohemian Fraternal Association, was the one organization to which she belonged. Her memory will be cherished as a devoted homemaker and also as a kindly personality, patient in all circumstances and forgiving in spirit. She is survived by three sons, James of Western, Elmer of Tobias, and Charles of Daykin, and three daughters, Mrs. Mary Nejdl of Beaver Crossing, Mrs. Josie Spicka and Mrs. Helen Kovanda of Friend. There are also fifteen grandchildren and one great-grand daughter. Funeral services were held in the Moore Mortuary with the Rev. Robert L. Embree in charge. Mr. Tom Clark of Exeter sang “Beyond the Sunset” and “In the Garden” with Mrs. Clark at the organ. Six grandsons served as pallbearers. Interment was in the Norfork cemetery near the home place.
