Barney Demarest Dies ~ Sad Death of a Legendary Horseman Barney H. Demarest, showman and horseman, 80 years old, who was for years connected with Barnum and Ringling Brothers circuses, was found dead Sunday in a small room in the offices of Basile's Band, 68 Orange street, Newark, where he had lived four years.
