Description	:	Barry Clayton Stetzel Guthrie Center Barry Clayton Stetzel, 66, son of Raymond and Beulah (Kness) Stetzel, was born December 15, 1944 in Carroll, Iowa. He passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. Barry graduated from Guthrie Center High School in 1964. He then attended University of Iowa, graduating in 1968. He was drafted into the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. He went on to work as the Guthrie County Assessor for 37 years, retiring in January of 2011. Barry also served on Governor Terry Branstad's Intergovernmental Relations Committee for 16 years.... Shearer Post #124, Iowa State Association of Assessors, and Barry was always the commander for the Assessors Color Guard. Barry is survived by his wife; Roma Stetzel of Guthrie Center, her daughters; Tonya (Xristos) Giannopoulos of Chicago, IL and Tami (Todd) Kuhnwald of Las Vegas, NV. Grandson; Landon Walker and Granddaughter; Sia Giannopoulos. Mother-in-law; Marie Alice Rigler of Guthrie Center, brother-in-law; Wilson Rigler of Centerville. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Friday, April 1, 2011 at the First United Methodist Church in Guthrie Center, IA. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Guthrie Center, IA. Visitation will be Thursday, March 31, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m. with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Twigg Funeral Home in Guthrie Center, IA. Memorials may be left to the Omar B.
