Speaker for the service will be Tim Lee. Casket bearers will be Kim Heiderscheit, Alan Heiderscheit, Jeff Heiderscheit, Kelly Heiderscheit, John Hofbauer and Curtis Hofbauer. Honorary casket bearers will be Lynn Knudsen, Jon Vaughan, Keith Pingrey, Tim Lee and Josh Shirbroun. A son of Cyril John and Glenna (Gettler) Heiderscheit, he was born Nov. 16, 1961, at Carroll. He was one of 10 children and grew up in Coon Rapids, where he attended school, graduating in 1980. After completing his education, he worked in the Coon Rapids area. He then moved to Texas and worked in the oil fields before moving to Las Vegas. He became a member of the concrete union, working on large projects there, including the Jack Nicholas Lake of Las Vegas Golf Course. He moved back to Coon Rapids in 1997, and continued to work in the concrete industry, initially in Des Moines. In 2002, he started his own business in Coon Rapids, TAB Concrete Specialists, with two partners, his brother, Alan Heiderscheit, and friend Tim Lee. Late in 2003, Barry met April Hofbauer. He enjoyed golfing with friends, fishing, ice fishing, hunting and horseshoes. Survivors include his fiance, April Hofbauer of Coon Rapids; two children, Alaya and Gavin of Coon Rapids; his mother, Glenna Heiderscheit of Johnston; eight siblings: Kim Heiderscheit and his wife Julie of Ankeny, Alan Heiderscheit of Bayard, Lisa Kapoi and her husband David of Calaway, Fla., Jeff Heiderscheit and his wife Cynthia of Winston-Salem, S.C., Maria Martinez of Las Vegas, Nev., Mary Beth Mount of Everly, Kelly Heiderscheit and his wife Mandy of Coon Rapids and Amy and Keehner and her husband Matt of Urbandale; in-laws, John and Sandy Hofbauer of Coon Rapids, Curtis Hofbauer of Carroll, Chad Hofbauer of Urbandale and Amy Hofbauer of Coon Rapids. Mr. Heiderscheit was preceded in death by his father, Cyril and a sister, Gina Heiderscheidt.
