Jones Sears, formerly of Monetta, died surrounded by family, March 4, 2006, in Lexington Medical Center. A native of Ridge Spring, daughter of the late William Burton and Debbie Jones Asbill, she was owner of Jones Cleaner, Friendly Cafe, Jones Coin Laundry, and Sears Discount Furniture, and a member of Ridge Spring Baptist Church, where she was a member of Golden Eagles, and the Ladies Sunday School class. Surviving are her three daughters, Betty Ann Jones Cox and Juanita Jones Boozer of Batesburg, Mary Jo Jones Hood of Lexington, and a son, Jimmy Burton Jones of Johnston. She has nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and cousins, a sister- in-law, Opal Asbill of Batesburg-Leesville, and a special buddy at Generations, Evelyn Summer. Mrs. Sears was predeceased by a grandchild, Kevin Boozer, two brothers, Willie Breeton Asbill, Joe Benton Asbill, and a sister, Edith Johnson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 8th, at Ridge Spring Baptist Church conducted by Reverend Charles Yoho. Burial will be in Ridge Spring Cemetery, pallbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary escort will be members of Ladies Sunday School Class, Ridge Spring Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 1 - 2 p.m. at the church. The family is at their respective homes.
