Description	:	Beatrice G. "Bea" Leese, 94 of Wenatchee, died Monday, April 28, 2008. She was a longtime resident of North Central Washington. Bea was the eldest of five children born to Andrew Martin and Elizabeth Ellen (Cole) Galbraith at Bridgeport, WA on October 21, 1913. She attended schools in Okanogan and Chelan and graduated from Cashmere High School. She was a longtime resident of North Central Washington. Bea was the eldest of five children born to Andrew Martin and Elizabeth Ellen (Cole) Galbraith at Bridgeport, WA on October 21, 1913. She attended schools in Okanogan and Chelan and graduated from Cashmere High School. Bea loved to spend her summers with her cousins at her grandparent's, Henry and Belle Richardson, ranch on Pearl Hill, WA, which was also the Post Office and store. She married George W. Mathison in 1931, in Wenatchee. They lived at Wagonersburg on Baker Flats and later bought an apple orchard there. They had one son, George W. "Bill" Mathison. Bea married Otto Leese in 1986, and they lived in East Wenatchee. She loved children and was a foster mother to six. Bea started college in 1956, and graduated from Wenatchee Valley College and Central Washington University. She taught Special Education Classes for the Wenatchee School District for 19 years. Bea loved music and dancing and was a good story teller. She liked to tell stories to her younger sisters and brothers, as they often gathered on her bed at night. Sometimes her stories were continued for days. Bea was a member of Territorial Daughters of Washington, Eagles Lodge, Women's Drill Team and the Wenatchee Senior Center. Bea is survived by her son, Bill Mathison of East Wenatchee; her sister, Fay Smith of East Wenatchee; her grandson, David Mathison of Pasadena, CA; and her special foster children, Anne, Tim, Kathy, Beth, Frank and Kevin; and many nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husbands, George Mathison and Otto Leese; sisters, Dorothy Pollman and Louise Phillips; brother, Max Galbraith; and grandson, Daniel Mathison. A Private Family Memorial Gathering will be held. Memorials may be made to the Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. Arrangements are by Telford's Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee.
