Beatrice was born January 27, 1931, the daughter of Harold and Ruby (Martens) Turner. Beatrice graduated from Postville High School in 1948. Read More	Beatrice Ellen Turner Lenth, 89, of Postville, Iowa died Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Good Samaritan Society of Postville. Beatrice was born January 27, 1931, the daughter of Harold and Ruby (Martens) Turner. Beatrice graduated from Postville High School in 1948. Bea was united in marriage with Elden Lenth on August 14, 1949 at the Presbyterian Church in Postville. To this union three children were born: Georgene, Douglas and Barbara. Bea and Elden celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2009. Bea and Elden began their farming career on the Lenth home farm near Monona, with a herd of Holstein cows. In 1954 they purchased a farm southeast of Postville, and in 1968 they purchased their first registered Hereford herd, selling the dairy herd to son-in-law Darrell Hatlevig. Over the years besides being a farm wife and mother, Bea shared her creative talents working in a floral shop in Postville. She also spent many summers attending local County Fairs where she was a judge for many of the home improvement, foods, and sewing projects. Bea was heavily involved in promotion of the Hereford cattle breed. She served on the Board of Directors for both the American Hereford Auxiliary, and the National Hereford Women. Bea and Elden were honored in 2002 as inductees of the Iowa Hereford Breeder’s Association Hall of Fame. Bea lived an active life enjoying cooking and baking for the family, sewing, craftwork, catering beef events, feeding the ISU Football team, dancing, playing cards with their “Bob’s Creek” friends, and attending children’s and grand-children’s activities. Surviving family include her three children, Georgene (Darrell) Hatlevig of Prior Lake, Minnesota, Douglas (Marilyn) Lenth of Postville, Iowa and Barbara (Matt) Reynolds of Huntsville, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brian (Amy) Hatlevig, John (Jen) Hatlevig, Keri (Ryan) Smith, Tye (fiance Lauren) Reynolds and Makayla Reyolds; seven great-grandchildren, Elsie, Anike and Cole Hatlevig, James and Elle Hatlevig, Tatum and Russell Smith; four step-grandchildren; Shawn, Wes, Chris and Matt Larson; four step-great-grandchildren; Aleyah, Audrey, Zoey and Rosalie Larson; Sisters, Mary Rush of Arvada, Colorado and Janice (Gary) Maxwell of Bakersfield, California, sister-in-law Laura Lenth of Postville, Iowa and many nieces and nephews. Beatrice was preceded in death by her husband Elden (2010); parents, Harold and Ruby Turner; and her brother Milton Turner. There will be a Graveside Service at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Postville Cemetery, Postville, Iowa with Rev. Lynn Noel as the officiant. There will also be a visitation for 30 minutes prior to the service at the cemetery. Due to Covid-19 we ask that everyone wear a mask and continue social distancing if you are planning on attending. Please bring a lawn chair if you would like to sit. Memorials may be sent to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Postville Ambulance Service, the Postville Library, or The Gideons International. Schutte-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Postville, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
