She was the wife of Glenn Edward Sowers, whom she married on November 6, 1948, and who died on March 11, 2003. Born in Lantz on June 27, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Allen Russell and Mazie Viola Smith and of her adoptive parents the late Albert and Lulu Brown of Brunswick. She is survived by: four children - Michael Sowers, Ranson, WV; Melody Marshall; Candy Powers; Darren Sowers, all of Brunswick; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a special brother Allen Francis Smith. Arrangements by the Donald B. Thompson Funeral Home, Middletown. Funeral services will be held at the Pleasant View Church of the Brethren near Burkittsville; interment will be made in the church cemetery.
