Description	:	Beatrice Lewis Newell, 94, of Abbeville, SC, wife of the late Richard ‘Dick’ Newell, died Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC. She was born in Lowndesville, SC to the late Samuel and Alice Parnell Lewis. Mrs. Newell was employed with Milliken and Co. – Abbeville Plant for many years and retired as the Building Clerk for the City of Abbeville. She was a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church, Circle I and The Long Canites. Read More	Beatrice Lewis Newell, 94, of Abbeville, SC, wife of the late Richard ‘Dick’ Newell, died Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC. She was born in Lowndesville, SC to the late Samuel and Alice Parnell Lewis. Mrs. Newell was employed with Milliken and Co. – Abbeville Plant for many years and retired as the Building Clerk for the City of Abbeville. She was a member of Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church, Circle I and The Long Canites. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Gillis, Watson, and Jack Lewis and a sister, Helen Dunn. Mrs. Newell is survived by her two sons, Rick Newell and Steve Newell, both of Abbeville, SC; three grandchildren, Brandon Newell of Charlotte, NC, Tanner Newell and Dustin White, both of Abbeville, SC; and several nephews and nieces, including Connie Lewis and Faye Sorrow who assisted in her care. The family will receive friends 2:00pm – 3:00pm, Sunday, June 11, 2017, at Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will begin at 3:30pm on Sunday in the church sanctuary with Rev. Vikki Brogdon and Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. Burial will follow in Long Cane Cemetery. The family is at the home in Abbeville, SC. Memorial contributions, in memory of Mrs. Newell, may be sent to Upper Long Cane Presbyterian Church, 194 Hwy. 20, Abbeville, SC 29620 or the charity of one’s choice.
