She died November 16, 2001 of cancer at the Wayne County Hospital at the age of 38 years. Bea spent most of her life growing up in Dallas, Iowa along with her older sisters Gail and Cindy, and younger brothers Jim and Ed. In 1980 the family moved to Allerton, Iowa where Bea met and married Ronald Van Dyne Jr. on May 23, 1981. She and Jr. lived in Lucas then later moved to Corydon. On August 3, 1983 their son Christopher was born and on December 2, 1985 their daughter Amanda was born. Bea was a housewife caring for her family. Bea and Jr. were divorced in 1989. In November of 1990 she met Daniel Carlson they later had a daughter, Brandi on May 7 1992. Bea ran a day care in her home, worked at New Venture Group Home, Neely manufacturing, Osceola Foods, Chariton Nursing and Rehab Center and at the Osceola Travel Plaza where she worked when she was diagnosed with Gliobastoma. On May 29th, 2001, Bea was baptized by Rev. Ross Blount. Two years ago she and Billjon Black started seeing each other. They enjoyed spending time with her kids, refinishing furniture, going to Prairie Meadows or the Osceola Boat, dancing and spending time with friends. Bea was preceded in death by her parents: Thomas and Dixie Tickle, a sister Cindy Kennedy, a brother Ed Tickle, and her grandparents: Earnest Tickle, Juanita Anderson, James and Flossie Smith. Graveside funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2001 at 1:00 PM at the Tickle Cemetery near Melcher-Dallas. The Rev. Charles Husted of Pella will conduct the services. Pallbearers are Tim Clow, Kim Clow, Jeremy Kennedy, Tyler Kennedy, Treye Van Dyne, and Tyler Van Dyne. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Clow, Jr. Van Dyne, Tim Van Dyne, Jim Tickle, Rick Carlson, and Billjon Black. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas. Memorials are requested in care of her children, Hospice, or the American Cancer Society.
