Read More	* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Twigg Funeral Home Guthrie Center, IA "Bea" Beatrice Millhollin April 22, 1929 - March 29, 2015 Obituary for "Bea" Beatrice Millhollin Beatrice Lucille Millhollin, daughter of Clarence Rich Benton and Opal Sheeder Benton was born April 22, 1929 in Guthrie County. She departed this life Saturday March 29, 2015 at the Guthrie County hospital surrounded by her family. Bea spent her early life in Grant township near Adair, IA, attending country school Grant #3. She graduated Guthrie High School in 1947. After graduation she worked at Beaches 5&10 Store and Ferguson's Bakery. She married her one true love Bobby Joe Millhollin on May 24th, 1948 and they spent almost sixty seven happy years together. Three children joined the family, Rick, Suzette, and Paul. Besides being a devoted wife and mother, Bea worked on the farm, taking care of her family, gardening and developing beautiful flower beds, baked and decorated wedding and birthday cakes, and was employed at Dowd's Drug for twenty three years clerking, decorating the store, and making flower arrangements. Many homes around Guthrie Center featured her floral designs. She and Bob took up crafting in later years and travelled around the state going to craft shows with her creations. They moved off the farm and enjoyed 'city life' in later years with Bea taking great pride in her flowers and landscaping at their home. She loved cooking, baking and entertaining and was well known for her delicious food. She was proud to be a member of the First United Methodist Church, Seeley Creek Club and a couples' card group that met and played cards for 50 years. She served as a 4-H leader and was active in both her children and grandchildren's 4-H projects. She was involved in all of her granddaughter's weddings, sewing and helping decorate. She enjoyed nature in almost every form. She loved collecting rocks, watching birds, photographing sunsets, admiring the shape and form of trees, and studying the formation of clouds. She had a very creative and artistic imagination. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Opal Benton, step mother Adah Parish Benton, and brother Max Benton. Left to cherish her memory are: Her husband Bob, brother Delbert(Tobe) and Ruth Benton, Jean Benton(Max), sons Rick Millhollin(Donna), Paul Millhollin (Darla), and daughter Suzette Betts(Les). Six grandchildren Lisa Millhollin Johnson(Hans), Angie Betts Stokes(Josh), Chris Betts, Jessica Millhollin Koster(Bryan), Jill Millhollin Janes(Geoff) , Jinny Millhollin Kanthak(Justin). She also had six step grandchildren Tammy Larson Hunter, Kathy Larson Goersch, Tom Larson, and Sarah, Hannah, and Jake Al-Mazroa. She was also blessed to have ten great grandchildren, six step great grandchildren, and one step great great grandchild. She will be greatly missed but her memory will live on in all those who knew and loved her.
