She was born on July 3, 1936, Berthold Township of Ward County near Berthold to Lawrence and Stella (Thingelstad) Hagen. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Berthold High School in 1954. She received her standard teaching certificate from Minot Normal School, now Minot state University. Read More	Beatrice Lou Greenup, 67, Box 75, 110 Rose Ave.; Berthold, N.D„ died Friday, on April 16, 2004, in a Minot, N.D., hospital. She was born on July 3, 1936, Berthold Township of Ward County near Berthold to Lawrence and Stella (Thingelstad) Hagen. She was raised on the family farm and graduated from Berthold High School in 1954. She received her standard teaching certificate from Minot Normal School, now Minot state University. As a young adult, she was employed as a waitress and aide at her grandmother’s nursing home. Beatrice married Robert Greenup on January 27, 1957, in Berthold. They made their home in Berthold and he farmed and she was a full-time wife, mother and grandmother. She and Robert bad celebrated 47 years together this past winter. To their union were born three children, Beatrice especially enjoyed the sports of basketball and baseball and was an avid supporter of area teams. Her life was spent enjoying her family and playing with her grandsons. Surviving family includes her husband, Robert Greenup, Berthold; daughters, Dawn (Vern) Herman, Williston, N.D., Darcy (Brett) Benth, Auburn, Wash.; son, Del Greenup, Berthold; grandchildren, Matthew and Nathan Herman; sisters, Jan (Dave) Harris, St. Paul, Minn., Patsy (Chris) Johnson, Renton, Wash.; brothers, Gerald (Patti) Hagen, Puyallup, Wash., and Larry (Ann) Hagen, Williston; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Beatrice was preceded in death by her parents. Service: Thursday at 11 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold. Interment: Wildrose Cemetery, Berthold, at a later date.
