Clark formerly of this town, were brought here for interment. For the last thirty years she had resided in Wilmington, Mass. Her eighty-eighth birthday was the nineteenth of February, just four days before her death. Mrs. Clark was a native of Danville, Vt., and a descendant of Thaddeus Ward, one of the pioneer settlers of that town. Mrs. Clark was a native of Danville, Vt., and a descendant of Thaddeus Ward, one of the pioneer settlers of that town. She was endowed with exceptional intellectual as well as physical strength, and the brightness of her mind and keenness of her perception were undimmed by her great age. Her sympathies were always with the poor and the unfortunate, who often received substantial proof of her kindness, while her eminently practical qualities and strong common sense rendered her peculiarly helpful and capable under all conditions of life. Her nature was one of perfect sincerity, and her acts always reflected the convictions of an earnest Christian, staunch and vigorous in adherence to what she believed to be the right. She left two sons, Jefferson Clark of New York, and Chester W. Clark of Wilmington, both of whom are lawyers." (Orleans County Monitor, 3/2/1903)
