Funeral services for Mrs. Irwin were held at 1:30 PM, Monday, December 16, 1996, at the United Methodist Church, Malcom. Carol Wehr, Associate Pastor, officiated. The organist was Jo Ann M. Schneekloth and the soloist was Patty Lang. Special selection were "How Great Thou Art" and "Good Night Down Here, Good Morning Up There." A memorial fund has been established for the Malcom United Methodist Church Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn, was in charge of arrangements. Belva Alice Neville Irwin, daughter of Rex Neville and Wilma Wiley Neville, was born November 5, 1916, near Malcom, Iowa. Mrs. Irwin lived most of her life in the Malcom area. Mrs. Irwin received her education in Malcom. She was a cook for Malcom school and the Brooklyn - Guernsey - Malcom Schools. On January 20th, 1934, she was married to Clarence "Red" Arthur Irwin in Toledo. Mrs. Irwin was active in the United Methodist Church of Malcom, a member of the United Methodist Women and Ruritan Club of Malcom. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Kenneth Hanssen of Grinnell and Virginia and Raymond Moore of Grinnell; one son and his wife, Gene and Diane Irwin of Bloomfield; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband who died Sept. 2, 1974, and one grandson.
